We attended both performances on Monday night, July 10 in Reynolds. The first group performed “It's Raining” in which a slitted partition of three walls created an intimate room on the stage. It was effective since the thunder in the pseakers and the dappled lighting set the appropriate mood. Two females and a male alternately danced, threw themselves on the floor and, for the females, changed costumes on stage (wearing bra and panties underneath). One dance involved the female bottomless showing the full Monty. In her post performance talk she said it was from a painting by Egon Shiele. The two females did some very nice duets in synch and out of synch. I enjoyed the performance.
The second company featured a pair of solo performances. The first was one in which a male dancer danced with projected images of himself. At times it was hard to tell the real dancer from the projections as he leaped over the projections, they leaped over him and he ducked some of them. It was ineresting but I thought it was long and tedious and was glad it was finally over.
The next number was a recreation of the 1985 “Stab” in whcih a dancer dancer dabnces with herself. There was some excellent theatrics as she skillfully performed some fancy footwork and eventually was killed by a trenchcoat and hat!!!
