WOODBRIDGE, David Davis, 88, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010. He was born January 29, 1922, in Seattle, Wash.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Mary R. Woodbridge. He is survived by his sons, Wayne and Tom; his daughter-in-law, Amelia; and grand-daughters, Lauren and Andrea. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army Transport in the Pacific and Atlantic. With a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Physics, he spent his life as a college educator, moving to Melbourne in 1963, and was the first director of the physics department at the Florida Institute of Technology. He finished his teaching career in 2002 with the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida.
His cryptside service will take place at
11 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010, at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens in Brandon, Fla. Arrangements have been entrusted to South Brevard Funeral Home, 1001 S. Hickory St., Melbourne, Fla., (321) 724-2222.
