Walter J. Kawejsza, 92, of New Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Tess Kawejsza, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, January 16, 2014.

Walter was born in Bronx, NY, son of the late Antoni and Anna (Hoponovich) Kawejsza. He attended schools in the Bronx and had served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He had worked as a Plant Manager for Hermany Farms, Bronx, NY, prior to his retirement. He was a longtime resident of the Candlewood Knolls Community and a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church.

He is survived by his sons: Bruce Kawejsza of Bronx, NY and Douglas Kawejsza and wife Carolyn of Sherman, his sister Helen Drelick of Long Island, NY, his daughter in law Lesley Kawejsza of Eastchester, NY, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his late wife, he is predeceased by his son Thomas Kawejsza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
