We decided to take the train because it can get us there in bad weather. Our prophecy turned out to be true since it was icy the morning we drove to the train station in Cary. The same was true coming home, the streets of NY were slush covered. We didn't think the roomette was worth it and will take the Business Class train next time since business class coming back was so comfortable.
