A town wall encircles the little town protectively. Zurich
Augusto Giacometti's Entrance HallThe most attractive police station entrance is probably the one in Zurich. When Gustav Gull, Zurich’s master architect around 1900, transformed the orphanage at the Bahnhofquai into a municipal building housing the city police station, the cellar became the entrance area. Since the lighting in the former cellar was not ideal, it proved necessary to resort to artistic methods. Augusto Giacometti was hired to paint the walls and vaulted ceiling. The local population uses the affectionate nickname “The hall of tiny flowers” to describe the Giacometti Hall due to its floral decoration.
Kunsthaus ZurichThe Kunsthaus Zurich art museum is a must for all art enthusiasts with one of the most important modern art collections in Zurich and various temporary exhibitions. Neuchatel
Botanical GardenA stone’s throw from the town, there’s a little gate that takes you into these large gardens. Palm trees and multicoloured flowers welcome us and carry us off on a discovery of all sorts of different plants. We stroll along the paths, from alpine slopes to the Mediterranean, to exotic and carnivorous plants, the dryness of cactus greenhouses or the warmth of tropical greenhouses.
