Ram Turbo Joystick Interface
I bought this joystick interface in a bundle of Sinclair hardware in February 2022.
Despite its name, it is neither a RAM extension nor an accelerator, but only a joystick interface.
It has a proprietary expansion slot on the top, with an edge connector inside (I found other Ram Turbo on the internet without that edge connector). However, the purpose of this slot is unknown to me. Maybe it was designed to receive game cartridges?
Configuration
- Built: 1984
- Dual joystick ports (it's said to emulate multiple joystick interfaces)
- Proprietary expansion slot
- Expansion bus connected through
Known Issues
- A part of the case is broken off and missing. However this part only serves decorative purposes, and does not affect functionality.
Restauration Works
- Both D-Sub connectors were massively corroded and have been replaced.
- General cleaning of the case and PCB.
