Los Poblanos

After the Crowne Plaza breakfast we went to the bus at 9:15 and left for the Los Poblanos Lavender Farm. This was a very small old Dairy Farm that has been repurposed into a sustainable agriculture farm. The main crop is Lavender which they harvest and then distill to extract the oil for fragrances and creams. It was quite a beautiful old farm with nice buildings and gardens that we enjoyed walking through for the morning. We returned around noon after which i ran to Walmart for more sandwich wraps for lunch. Had a quick lunch in time for the Library meeting and photography at 1:30 after which we started the show photography. This finished early and then Libbie and I went upstairs and fell asleep for a while. Got dressed and down to dinner at 6PM for the Social hour. We sat with Steve Covollo, Karen my beta tester, Bob Krazuski and wife - the hybridizer of Jersey Snowflakes and 2 other ladies. The meal was a flat iron steak with mushroom gravy and veggies. It was quite good, a surprise for Hotel food. The end of a very long day. |
