I waited for Ian to come for Clarinet instruction at 1 but he never showed up. I called him at 1:30 and he had the wrong address and no phone number. This shot the day for me. Later I tried assembling the Clarinet using Youtube and eventually was able to get a note out of it like the Youtube video. I think I can do this on my own with the help of YouTube and possibly some hands on instruction. I tried calling a studio in North Port who said he would give my name to an instructor. The instructor never called. Sarasota is vacuum valley for music lessons. I would have much better luck in Apex. We did a grocery run to Walmart earlier where I also picked up a dvd/cd player that automatically rips CDs to a USB stick. It worked really well but needed a TV for use as a monitor. I ripped the 2 New Orleans CDs to USB then spent some time manually writing the Mp3 tags to the albums. The tags are the real work in ripping an album.
We stopped by Costco to get coffee and tuna fish then went to the AMC theater and bought some Opera tickets for Rusalka tonight.
We went to Rusalka at 6:30 and were not disappointed. Kristina looks and sings incredibly well. I enjoyed the performance although I may have dozed once or twice during the performance. Libbie made some outstanding tuna fish sandwiches with celery and tuna. The theater let out at 10 but by that time the mall was shut down and the parking lot was empty. Welcome to Sarasota.
