Remarkably, this 80452 based monitor used an 8051 derivative with onboard EPROM in a pin grade array package. This was designed in 1988 when an assembly code compiler became available through IBM. The physical package was an XT backplane with PC prototyping cards that plugged in. The premise was to make repair easier.
