WIZ108SR Communications
The WIZ108SR is an RS422/RS485 to Ethernet gateway.
By leaving Pin 10 open, RS485 mode is selected. Grounding pin 10 selects RS422. RS485 only uses 2 wires for RX/TX while RS422 has a separate TX pair and a separate RX pair.
In the default serial configuration mode, data is collected in the serial buffer and sent raw without a standard. This is the mode I like since it allows the device that is polling to format the data. I may be wrong here, especially if a lot of garbage shows up this way.
The network side has 3 modes: server, client nad mixed. I like server mode. The Wiz device is a server waiting for client connections. In this mode, a host can poll the device for data.
