Elisir D'Amore
This was the first of our HD series this season. It was a beautiful Fall sunny afternoon. Everything was perfect including the performance by a superb cast. Anna still has it with a powerful vooice, although none of the cast was too shabby. I really liked Dr Dulamara this time, he has a nice comical baritone. The staging was wonderful, Bart Sherrer wanted to play the comedy seriously and he pulled it off. Nice costumes and a wonderful pastel hued set. This was a good production backed up by very nice singers. We were expecting an encore for Una Furtiva Lacrema since the applause went on for so long but it didn't happen. Matthew Polizani's phrasing was outstanding with just the right amount of pauses and sadness. The between the Acts interviews including the Polish Bass, Mariusz Kwiecien, speaking a greeting in Polish to his audience back home.
