Gotterdamerung
We went to this in Cary. left the house at 11:15 for a 12:00 showing. Had to pick up our tickets at the box office even though we purchased them online. Price was $44 for two seniors, then my Visa Signature card gets a 20% discount.
The performance, over 6 hours long, was most enjoyable. We didn't have that annoying old couple talking behind us. I saw someone else had shushed them up. There was a middle aged couple sitting in front of us that seemed to be a date. Funny. The power glitched and we lost the opera for about 5 minutes during the scene where Sigfried is at the waterfall and Hunding and the hunting party arrive, just before he gets stabbed in the back by Hunding.
The music was stirring, the stupid Met machine actually helped provide some nice imagery to move the oper along although I much prefer traditional staging.
