We drove from Lafayette to Baton Rouge to pick this HD performance up on our journey home. It was interesting. The theater is run by morons. The audio didn't match the video during the preshow then when the opera started they switched the video to a blank screen. We missed the intro by Deborah voight. The Baton ROuge audience was chatty and generally obnoxious. Lots of talking and the woman behind me spent the whole time rummaging around in a plastic shopping bag. We quickly moved our seats down the row to get away. The performance was forgettable in many ways. The staging was awful. I'll take Zeferreli anyday over this garbage. Dessay was sick. Her voice was good when she had it but other times she had nothing to give. It was a shame because we so looked forward to hearing her do Violetta. It was a disappointment.
