Generac Auto Transfer Switch Operation
I don't have an auto transfer switch but wanted to know what signals caused it to work. The transfer solenoid is powered by 240 VAC. The 240 VAC is applied to the coil with a second 12 volt relay. There are two terminals which control the relay. Terminal 194 has 12 VDC all the time and terminal 23 is momentarily grounded when the switch is to be activated.
