Jon Edward Fox, 73, of Cary passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 27, 2013.
Jon was born in Hammond, Indiana, to Edward and Marjorie Fox who predeceased him. He was a 1957 graduate of Charlotte High School in Rochester, NY. Jon graduated in 1961 from Worchester Polytechnic Institute in Worchester, MA with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation Jon served two years as a second lieutenant in the US Army, and he retired from IBM in 1994 after a 32 year career.
Jon is survived by his wife of 50 years the former Melinda (Lindy) Dutton, his sons Michael (Deborah) and James (Amy), sister Kathy Maksymiak (John) and grandchildren Noah and Jori Beth.
Jon and his wife Lindy built a vacation home on Lake Gaston together, where he enjoyed fishing and waterskiing and teaching his sons to do the same, and then watching his grandchildren Noah and Jori Beth enjoy the lake.
A private memorial service will be held at his lake house in March.
