Tom's Life Bits

This was our first time in the new Dallas Opera House. Wow, what a spectacular building. It's pretty opulent and nicely landscaped considering it's a downtown building. We went to the 6:30 pre performance discussion which was worth it. I learned a few things about the personality of Lucia and how she was tormented and on the edge. Our lecturer also played the piano to demonstrate some of his points. Wow, this was great.
The Opera was well done. It's a good orchestra, great costuming in conjunction with the staging. They have very very good singers, especially Lucia. What an enjoyable evening but it was long and exhausting.
