Setting Up Custom voice Routines in Alexa
Amazon echo commands feel natural for lighting… For blinds and other opening or locking devices, they feel clunky and unnatural. Saying ' turn on' before a command such as 'turn on close all blinds…' sounds stupid and is not intuitive. We just don't talk like that!
Please can anyone advise if there is a way to just give a command to my Somfy blinds without having to say 'Echo turn on close bedroom' course bedroom is the name I have to the blind function. Why can I change it to someone like Echo 'Open bedroom blind' with 'bedroom blind' being the name of the blind.
Answer: Have you tried setting up a routine? In the Alexa app tap Menu > Routines > Add. Next, select When this happens > Voice and you can enter something like “Alexa, open the bedroom blinds.” Then select Add action > Smart home and here you can select the smart blinds action.
